She stood and picked up his beer bottle. “I’ll take these to the kitchen and hide.” “No.” The doorknob jiggled. “Is your mother really going to barge in?” she murmured. “Danil? That’s terrible.” Danil took the bottles from her and tossed them onto the sofa. He tugged her into his arms. “Go with it. You can hate me later.” He tangled Maura in an embrace and kissed her.
